Ponce City Market has a long history in the city of Atlanta, tracing all the way back to the 1860s when locals flocked to Ponce de Leon Springs in search of rest and rejuvenation. By the late 1800s, the area had grown into a busy destination, thanks to streetcar access and the wildly popular Ponce de Leon amusement park, nicknamed “The Coney Island of Atlanta.” Later, the nearby lake was turned into a ballpark.

In the 1920s, Sears, Roebuck & Co. built a massive retail and distribution center on the site, which eventually became City Hall East when the City of Atlanta took it over in the '90s. But by 2011, the space was mostly empty until Jamestown, a real estate firm, stepped in. They transformed the historic building into what is now Ponce City Market: a mix of shops, restaurants, offices, and residences, all connected to the Atlanta BeltLine in the heart of Atlanta’s Old Fourth Ward.

Since its first tenant opened in 2012, PCM has grown into a beloved community hub. It has even earned rave reviews from Travel + Leisure and the National Trust for Historic Preservation. With new expansions in the works, this Atlanta landmark keeps evolving while honoring its deep roots in the community.
